I think you've missed Klaus point. The issue is not that lenses can't take advantage of the 24MP sensor but rather he believes the design of the NEX-7 is preventing good resolution in the corners (wether this be micro lenses on the sensor or something else I have no clue).

I.e, in theory a different design (maybe the alpha-77 ?) will produce better corner results with a 24MP sensor and the same lenses.
