Some NEF samples from the web... includes high ISO D700 samples also for the same scene:

I downloaded some of them a checked the high ISO samples. Below is the comparison for ISO 3200 (which I personally rarely use). The one on the right belongs to D800E, which was downscaled to 12mp. I could not find a perfect 100% view of the both images which is fully is in focus and at the same time can be a good candidate to show the noise levels. But I think this crop shows that the noise levels are more or less the same and D800E keeps the detail level very high... I wonder how would the D800 samples from the same scene look like...
