There appears to be a misunderstanding. The case is closed for me, because what provoked my curiosity was the report about the 85mm. Now that I have seen pictures taken with that lens and which exhibit little difference, I have the answer I need.
I have not said nor implied that the NEX-7 sensor is as good as the NEX-5N sensor on all lenses. Actually, I know and admitted that such is not the case for rangefinder lenses. I can even imagine that there might be some issues at short distances, but when testing a lens at a short distance correct alignment is essential and people on the Fred Miranda forum do not own optical test benches, so we will not easily find out. I agree that it may cause problems for Klaus, who on this site is testing lenses.
