I'd give up a 1/2 stop for the improvement (gx1 vs e-m5). What is not clear to me is if the gx1 would be as clean as the e-m5 if given an extra 1/2 stop of exposure.

As to price - I'm not sure. The gx1 is a bit less expensive but I woudl never buy a gx1 or ep without a viewfinder (I prefer to hold the camera up to my eye - maybe it is habit but I never feel comfortable with using the screen for framing). I cannot speak first hand if I will like the e-m5 evf but presuming that I do then for $400 price difference you end up with evf, weather sealing, ibis and (important to me) olympus jpeg engine.
-
I really don't need the weather sealing; I like to believe the ibis really helps though I know there are folks who think lens or camera stabilization system are a negative and as I noted i cannot comment on the evf.
-
Anyways it might be $100 pricer than the gx1 when all is said then again olympus usa will toss in a flash or 4/3 to u 4/3 converter for free so its not too bad if you have a need for one of those items.
-
Also I have no doubt that the next iteration of pen cameras will use this sensor. I would think that is obvious rode of evolution (unless olympus jettison the camera division).
-
I'm not committed to getting a u4/3 camera though i'm beginning to feel it is a better option than the pro-1 and nex-7 (when you consider auto focus abilities, lens selection and total cost).
