I have to say the results your are getting are better than what I expected from this lens after having seen the Sigma provided MTF http://www.sigma-foto.de/fileadmin/conte..._EX_DN.jpg
I assume the green line is their typical 30 lpmm, but I haven't been able to confirm that this is still what they do.
