All of those who think 36 or 24 MP is too much...in a couple years time you might say its not enough. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hmmmm... what makes you think that it may not be enough in a couple of years? I admit that I pixel peep occasionally and the D800 results are really interesting (when checking the details around the eyes of the model, one might realize that she is not shaved <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />...). But other than that, what does the 36mp resolution gives me if I do not make large prints? And why would I say 36mp is not enough and I want more... Surely I will be wanting more, but not concerning the resolution of the sensor <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />...
I'm rather interested in the DR and tonal range of the sensor... and higher SNRs... OK, most of us convert the raw file to 8-bit JPEG and/or print with a much less DR/TR than the camera is capable of. But I like to view the raw files on a decent monitor (sometimes as 100% view <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />). And also when it comes to post processing to JPEG, I personally would prefer increased DR/TR to 36mp resolution...
