It was not a valid argument then, and it still is not.
Diffraction does not increase with resolution of the sensor, diffraction happens in the optics. A projected image will always have the same amount of diffraction softening, whether it is done with a 6mp sensor or a 60mp sensor.[/quote]
Actually, I wholeheartedly agree with you. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
My post was meant to be a sarcastic reminder to those fanboys who beat their chest and decried Canon's 18 MP APS-C sensor many years ago.
Let me reiterate this: high pixel density has nothing to do with diffraction (apart from revealing what has already taken place), nothing to do with high ISO performance and nothing to do with dynamic range. Amazingly, even some (previous) renowned owners of popular websites like DPReview (remember Phil Askey?) firmly believes high pixel density is bad for camera performance. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
