Of course I must be aware of the noise level and the usable ISO range of a camera, and of course I limit my photography to that range with each camera and chosse the lowoest possible setting. Nonetheless, I'd really like to be able to rely on ISO 100 on 60 year old hand meter still being the "same" ISO 100 on my latest digital camera.
Yes, it's the same as with focal length. Except there's no standardized "ISO" focal length on each lens and we need to do the math ourself.
