That was my point. And it makes no difference if you prefer to work with DIN, ASA or ISO, it's all related and basically the same thing.

And that wasn't my point. My point is that understanding your point has NO practical impact on almost everybody's every-day photography, be it digital or on film. I do not need to know how ISO settings are defined or achieved for digital devices to make good use of them.
