As much as i like EM-5, from a street photographer's perspective, there're couple of problems which a SLT like upcoming A57 addresses in a better way:
1) Aspect ratio: native 4:3, when you crop this to 3:2, you sacrifice resolution....i think it can go to 12MP then.
2) AF: all said and done, the AF still can't match a phase detection body, for quickly shooting moving objects (well, subjects <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' />).
3) DR is not an issue with me at all, but current Sony sensors are just plain better.
On autofocus: For street, it helps to have a tilt screen and live view and speed. Unfortunately all faster cameras have dismal live view performance, which means they will not focus fast on live view. EM-5 will be better in this regard, but nothing like a SLT, which has phase-detection capable live view.
On sensor: However improved the EM-5 sensor can be, it can't be better than A-57/K-5 sensor. In terms of size, in terms of DR, in terms of 3:2 resolution, in terms of high ISO noise.
Weather sealing is a great plus with EM-5. Both systems have IS. Both systems have viewfinders and tilting screens.
