The 5D mkII already was similar to the D700/D3 at higher ISO settings. The 5D mk III is comparable to the D800 and D4 at higher ISO settings. In fact, the provisional early results from comparisons with the D800 show the 5D mk III to have a bit nicer results from ISO 6400 and up.
The only big difference is the low read noise from the Sony sensors since the 16mp APS-C one.
