I think the main problem with the 5D3 is it's price tag... On a market where the majority awaits for increasing number of pixels, if the competitor places a 36mp FF product with 3.000$ price tag, one should check the price strategy again. And moreover, I don't think that the upcoming Sony FF will not be more expensive than the D800...
But regardless of that, I think -at least on paper- 5D3 is a clear improvement compared to the older version. The question is whether the price difference compared to 5D2 worth it or not. But especially the Canon APS-C users who want to upgrade to FF can use this opportunity wisely... Both 5D2 and 5D3 can be a good choice depending on the budget.
