Thanks for the remote tip, I'll try and get one.

I figured many of these already but found nice ones there.
I'll try to do a side by side comparison of the E-P1 & E-M5 to check what's this "warm colours". I suspect that's the feel I liked so much in the E-P1. I assume they added this option because people complained some shadows got frankly reddish, purplish at times.
Don't really know about the tone curve. It seems to me it shouldn't affect raw data, gurus will correct me, but I guess raw capture is just raw and that all the tone curving is "meta data". So I guess it would equal post process?
As for the kit lens, I grew over the idea it shines by its versatility rather than its optical feats so I should be ok. The idea for me was to use it when I want to go "light headed" with a single lens and not fear for rain & dirt. It should replace my "optimal kit". Agree with you, horrid flaring. Took me only two minutes to witness.

The wired remote for the E-30 works fine on the E-M5, it's just the wireless remote that it doesn't support.
I'm not sure about the keep warm colors compared to the previous camera, but I prefer it turned off. I wonder if the default setting is to meet the expectations of people coming from point and shoots that tend to mess up white balance indoors. I am finding the auto WB much better with this camera than any I've used in the past.
I agree with the live view highlight and shadow flashing. Definitely one of my favorite new features.
I just got back from vacation in Spain and used the tone curse control several times. I wasn't sure if it would affect the RAW or not either, but I haven't had a chance to look at the photos yet as my HD is too full to load the photos. If it does affect the RAW, do you think the results would be better than messing with default capture in post processing?
The kit lens is impressively fast. I shot mainly with it during my recent trip. I'm not sure I'd say it's a great lens, but I like it a lot for it's flexibility. It's most noticeable failing so far IMO is that it doesn't handle flare well. (strong reduction in contrast)
