I just realized that planting a monochrome sensor into the M9 body is the best thing Leica could do to quieten the nitpickers: gone are the colour shifts with wide angles <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
But then, why introduce an APO lens along with it? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Colour shifts and/or CA etc. will still register even with a monochrome sensor, even if in a different way than it does with a sensor used for colour registration. It may be less obvious, but it is still there and it still reduces resolution and contrast.
Having said that, price and quality of optics is of course something that distinguishes Leica from the rest.... <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.
Kind regards, Wim
