I just rented the 35 from lensrentals. I read that it was insanely sharp for the price and beat out Canikon competition. Duclos even wrote an article comparing it to the Zeiss 35 and said they were both equally sharp, the Samyang just has CA and more pronounced vignetting. So for that price I wanted to rent it to see if it was worth buying.
It definitely performs stellar and beat the Nikons I've used, never touched Canon, but for a manual focus ring the markings were way off. This really hurt the lens useability for me. If it is only manual focus it should have a accurate, well marked focus ring with at least 180 degree rotation. This thing was off all over the place only rotated about 100 degrees. Pee-eew, I'd go with anything else, this just slows me down too much and really effected the job I was on.
