I consider that the D7000 and the D300s are occupying the same basic space in the Nikon line up. So by the time the D5200 and D7000s are introduced there is no space left for a D300s replacement.
If the rumoured D600 does exist it will be the lowest cost Nikon FX but not what I would consider a low end camera. True the video specifications would make it more of a home video camera rather than a semi pro camera but that is all most people require if they use video at all.
