Well, I was only considering f/2.8 lenses (of which there's precious few available) to match this prime.
I really think this is overblown, there have been such troubles with very old Sigma lenses but not anymore (short of the SLT debacle which, TTBOMK, didn't affect all lenses, only a select few). If it ever happens I expect Sigma to fix it anyways, since it's now a pretty large and well established manufacturer, not some obscure cheapskate one.
