Canon UK RCC:

7D stopped working without warning, wont turn on. Called Canon, the people on the general phone system weren't much use, only said to send it in and couldn't give any more indication of process or costs. After checking some other authorised repair centres, they weren't any better so I decided to ship to Canon UK RCC anyway.

About 5 working days after I sent it in, I had an e-mail giving a repair estimate of £78. I had to phone in to accept and pay for it which I did the next day. It went quiet for a few days then I got notice of shipping, and it arrived the day after. End to end they had it about 10 working days.

The camera looks good, but I don't have accessories to test it out right now... the note says they repaired a DC-DC PCB and cleaned the camera. At my request they also put the latest firmware on, since it broke just before that got released.
