Alexander, I would advice to use the Merklinger method rather than that "hyperfocal distance" blahblah... It will most probably give you more satisfying results.

Saves you a lot of silly calculations with less than ideal results... Either focus on the main subject, or focus at infinity with an appropriate aperture.
