Using dollars (can't find the euro MSRPs right now)...

Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f2.8: MSRP: $1890

Nikon AF-S 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 VR : MSRP: $600



Difference Nikon: $1290 (taxed)



Difference Canon: €1182 (not taxed)

We are talking about a 3x price difference between the lens classes on the Nikon side and a 2x price difference at Canon. Not to mention that Nikon in generally a magnitude more affordable.



Anyway, it does not matter. Fact is that the 24-70/4L is way overpriced no matter what.
