But to answer your first question: no, R lenses are MF lenses, too. But the new M finally offers Liveview (limited to the center of the image), which allows to manually focus adapted R lenses with the camera's LCD.


To be honest: already did not sound attractive to me in the press release, did even less convince in practice. The Leica customer crowd is very conservative, and I wouldn't be surprised if those who consider to switch to digital now would rather get a M-E instead of the new M.

Thank you pointing this one out, because the presentation (probably you watched too) I watched on their website showed some fashion photographer using it just like dslr with EVF-add-on. Until now I thought they made it to work almost like MFT.
