I don't find it much uglier than most of the competitors also are - always a matter of taste, of course. And each one has his/her own favorites. It's kind of failsafe, low-risk design, a bit boring, a bit classy, nothing spectacular.

 

I just don't understand the high ISO range and the metering system going "only" from 0...+20 EV while the D4 goes from -1...+20 EV. So this Df has an ISO range like a D4 but with a slightly less sensitive metering system, no better focus help, shutter speeds until 1/4000 might be fast enough and also only high speed USB instead of USB 3.0 They really cut a lot away to make a cheap D4 (45% cheaper at the moment)
