Well 7D plus 10-22 plus 17-55 is merely the same as 5D plus 17-40 or 16-35 plus 24-70 or 24-105, for the tele end , they will use same lenses, I know 24-70L is heavier than 17-55, but the difference isn't that important.
but I am speaking in Canon land and about lenses I wanna get, maybe for some other gear there's some difference.
Image quality speaking I found no difference, I rarely print bigger than 30X45cm , seeing that crop cameras are being very well performant on the side of ease of use and autofocus, with an unnoticeable difference in image quality, with the presence of the magnificient 17-55 IS with no equivalent in full frame world, it seems things are clear for me <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> unless something shows in the upcoming months.
