Looking at dpreviews sample gallery the lens seems to fail just like the Sony 16mm - quite mediocre corners for a prime lens.

Seems as if the Japanese companies are resistant to lessons lately.

Hi Klaus,

I saw those before and noticed the "corners" as well, but things seem to get better quite quickly when moving into the frame. One thing to consider when comparing: this is a 18MP camera. In summary I don't think it is as bad as the Sony lens, but then this is a 28 equiv and not a 24. Also some of the samples seem to have focusing issue (hand-held camera?). So I reserve final judgment until more data is available.

I start to think, that weak corners seems to be the way the WA-pancake cookie crumbles when it comes to mirror less cams. These lenses are made for size, typically offer good centre performance and weaker corners. If one looks how close the sensor in a mirror less, there might be some physics issue (e.g. angled rays) here.
