I have to disagree, the Canon 550D is a much better camera than the D3100 (although it is a bit more expensive. I do not see either how the D7000 has "the advantage" over the Canon 60D either. Nor do I see how the D300s has "the advantage" over the D300s. And the Canon 1Ds mk III is an awesome camera too.
I agree that of course Nikon will come with a successor of the D300s, and it might just get a different sensor from the D7000.
