Hello lovers of photography. My name is manny and I'am new here and I have a question for you all. I'am in the market for a 70-300mm lens . I had my mind made up on the Nikon 70-300mm VR for my Nikon D90.But ever since the Tamron 70-300mm VC lens came out now I have my doubts if the Nikon was or still is the best in IQ out there. Can anybody here give me some input on which should I buy ?

Hello manny, I just bought the Tamron 70-300 VC for my D300s and I am very happy with it. It has excellent sharpness and piqué throughout the focal range, which the Nikon does not and pricewise you get very good deals on Dutch internet shops. I agree with genotypewriter that the Sigma 100-300 f4 is an excellent lense, but it really is for a different use, heavier and bigger and more than twice the price. But your choice! Kindly Vieux Loup
