I know you can always have it... but thing is, it just is not always needed or useful. It would be just about last on *my* list of things to look for. Two lenses with IS would be enough for me: A longer tele with IS and a standard zoom with IS. Primes would get used by me for their wide apertures, not for IS need.
But that's the beauty of it. You can have both wide aperture and SSS. It's true that you may not need it much but it's there when you do. Kinda like ABS. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Same with video with AF... It is a specs list thing, not a thing to use. If you want AF with video, you better have a big DOF, else it will drive the viewer of the video crazy. But for big DOF video, just get a camcorder. DSLR video is for the creative, not the homevideo shooter.
When I bought the 7D I wished for a slightly cheaper model without video. "What do I need video for" I thought, "I like stills, not video". But to my surprise, I found myself shooting video from time to time (certainly not enough to justify buying another camcorder). And when I did I found that my MF skills are sorely missed. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> You see, I bought the A33 for many features that I wanted but ended up not using them at all. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
