The lens alone from Fuji or Nikon would be more expensive.
You didn't mention the most interesting part... That camera is built by Leica in Germany. The camera is like a typ 240. The Typ 240 body only costs... $6000 body only. So it is not the "made in Germany" aspect that makes Leica price their products partly out of the marketplace.
You get a typ 240 limited production model (500 will be made) with Zenit touches and a lens with a negative price. A no brainer for those who would like such a camera.

If you say that's a 240 type, you look at the outside (designed by Krasnogorsk). It would be interesting to tear them down. Also, I would not use a camera which follows the same design principles as Lada or a T90 tank: Edgy, close to no curves and from Logo to leather just ugly.
