WOW <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Had I known that a simple question about a lense choice for a D700 would cause such stirrups among the batavian memebers of this Forum, I would not have asked it. But go at it guys!
For those of you who might still be interested, I bought the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 (on a Dutch site <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )and for 2 reasons;
- Another forum that I frequent has made a comparison and find the IQ equally as good for both lenses, maybe with a slight piqué advantage to the Nikon, but also finds the Sigma nicer to work with (weight and size)and the price/quality ratio definitely in favor of Sigma. Build quality again is found to be equal.
- A professional photographer friend of mine has used one on that body for some time and has only good things to say!
When time comes to buy the 70-200 my mind is totally made up in favour of Nikon, because of its clearly superior IQ.
So, there you go! Thanks for your innput!
