I agree.
For a general lens for travel, I'm more and more thinking about these 3 options:
1) Panasonic/Olympus body with Olympus 12-100 f4
2) Panasonic/Olympus body with Panasonic 12-60 f2.8-4
3) Sony A7 II (can be had for cheap) or III (if cost is no issue) with Sony 24-105 f4
Sony FE is starting to be very compelling IMO.
Combine the zoom above and a Samyang 18mm f2.8 for UWA, a Samyang 45 f1.8 as a standard fast prime and a Sony 85 f1.8 for portrait, and you have a pretty complete setup (except for long reach) that's very hard to beat in term of versatility, IQ, compactness (overall package volume similar to Fuji for instance), and cost.
A friend of mine is letting me borrow his A7 III. I'll test it for a couple of days to see how it handles and fares.
