Woah, something really is off with that lens, perhaps that explains the bad wide open performance.

This image shows something is weirdly wrong:

Wide open. There are two gothic windows in the center of the image. Look at them at 100%, and marvel at the really bad lateral CA... in the CENTER of the image. That is not how lenses are supposed to work.
