Basically, what has been done up to now by the 3rd party manufacturers who did supply an RF-mount lens is effectivly an EF-interface anyway.
Until they figure out how to properly deal with an RF-interface, they could indeed just as well provide an EF-mount lens.

As to expensive: it is relative. It is a lot of money, expensive is an opinion Smile. Owning both an RF 85L and an RF 50L all I can say is that they are worth it in my book. Smile
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....
