Well, you can turn that off while you can not turn on the autofocus (and camera-controlled aperture, etc.) that is not there to start with.

I would settle for just AF/AE, and my cameras don't sport and sort of face and eye recognition anyway (though maybe I would've felt better if they had).
BTW I wonder how much this lens will cost. Probably 1/10 of the Leica (which was $2500 IIRC... for a 28/5.6 "character" lens, come to think of it).
P.S. The news of the Nikon Z 28/2.8 (non-SE) release/pricing add a comparison point... that lens is 300 bucks, though some people may bemoan the all-plastic outer shell.
