Hello everyone,

I recently sold all of my Fuji gear to move to Sony FE, mostly due to the huge lens selection, better value (quality/cost) and compactness of the system.
People always tout the compactness of APS-C and Fuji, but at equivalent output settings, for most lenses, the Sony system is actually more compact/lightweight than Fuji-X. Furthermore, I've never been happy with Fuji "compact zoom" (i.e. the non-pro gear which is comparatively quite large).

The Fuji gear I used to have:
  • X-S10
  • X-E4
  • Fuji 14 f2.8
  • Fuji 18 f2
  • Viltrox 23 f1.4
  • Fuji 35 f1.4
  • Sigma 56 f1.4
  • Sigma 18-50 f2.8
  • Fuji 50-230 f4.5-6.7
  • Tamron 18-300 f3.5-6.3

The Sony gear I have now:
  • Sony A7cII
  • Viltrox 20 f2.8
  • Samyang 35 f1.8
  • Sony 50 f1.8
  • Sony 85 f1.8
  • Sony 28-60 f4-5.6
  • Tamron 28-200 f2.8-5.6

The Viltrox 20 f2.8 is very good (comparable to the Fuji 14 and about the same size) and it cost me only $180! I cannot believe the IQ I get from it for the price. That's insane! In term of DOF and focal length, it would be equivalent to a Fuji 13 f1.9.
The Samyang 35 f1.8 cost me $330 and is much better than the Viltrox 23 f1.4 while being smaller and offering more DOF control.
The Tamron zoom is much better than the Fuji 16-80 f4 I had (but sold) while offering better DOF control and a much larger zoom range (yes, it lacks the 24-27 range, the reason I have the Viltrox). Even at 200mm f5.6 it's good.

A couple of weeks ago, I went on short 3-day hiking trip throughout central Switzerland and here are my very first shots with a 2-lens kit: Viltrox 20mm and Tamron 28-200:

Hike along the Aletsch glacier in canton of Valais. Aletsch is the longest glacier in Europe:

The Furka pass to cross from canton Valais to canton of Uri. Scary drive as at the top it was so foggy, we couldn't see more than 5 meters. The turns are very steep and often there are no fences at all:

Hiking Stoos ridge in canton of Schwyz:

Small stop in the charming little village of Iseltwald on the shore of lake Brienz, canton of Bern:

Last hike in Lauterbrunnen valley, canon of Bern. Unfortunately it started raining and visibility and lighting wasn't very good. Will have to do it again ;-)

I'm very happy with the results compared to what I used to get with Fuji. Given I tend to shoot landscapes at wider focal lengths and it's a bit annoying to have to switch between the Viltrox 20mm and the Tamron 28-200, I decided to purchase the Sony 20-70 f4. I'll let you know my thoughts once I can properly test it, but I think I'll use it most of the time and switch to the Tamron 28-200 when I need more reach, which shouldn't be very often.
