No need for self-deprecation... all DSLR lenses are eminently adaptable to mirrorless anyway. I run a mixed stable of EF and Z mount lenses, with the heavy tilt towards the former, and I'm not feeling left out of this game in any way. Of course the EF mount lenses have a theoretic advantage in adaptability, but for a Nikon Z mount user, being able or unable to adapt their older lenses to RF mount is irrelevant.
The 85G is a great lens, although I think that I am in the possession of the greatest 85mm f/1.8 lens of all time.
