Ok guys I just got shafted! ..... I bought the lens through Rakuten who are just an agent for pros or private sellers .......
The situation was the ad was for a AF-S85mm F1.8G complete with a picture of the lens and what I didn't see was the small print in light gray which said older model .......
I received the lens this morning it was yet another AF85mm F1.8 not even the D model.
I telephoned Rakuten and explained the situation saying the announce was clearly for a AF-S 85mm F1.8G, but he found this small print and said there was nothing he could do, we spoke for some time and he was very sympathetic as the seller had clearly tried to deceive the true identity of the product. He said I could try to reclaim a refund with the seller, apparently he sells regularly with them so he had clearly a plan to deceive even what the product was and how to cover his tracks, so he is clearly a fraudulent smart arse.
So I'm stuck now with a second non D copy to pair with my D version.
