A similar thing might be present in the AF-S 35. The lens shows surprisingly poor border and corner performance on the D7000 (at large apertures).

mm, OK. I find what you are saying a bit disturbing (about the 35 AF-S)... These lenses have been constructed primamrily for full frame use but still... Lets see what 85mm 1.4G shows, I cant wait.
