Hi,
I am considering a Nikon D7000 and I need suggestions for the best all around lens to use with it...
From wide to telephoto.
I want a well built lens that has really good optical quality and ... And this might seem strange... One I can manually set ti
Infinity with a focusing index
Any opinion?
How is the D7000?

The 16-85VR is a very nice lens.
You do not say why you want the D7000. If you have no Nikon camera or lenses yet, then instead of searching for the right lens for a specific camera, you should first find out what lenses you potentially want to have and decide on the system first. Cameras from all brands tend to converge in terms of features and price. So do lenses, but there are always small differences in line-up between Canon and Nikon, for example.
Canon's 17-55/2.8 is widely considered superior to Nikon's equivalent. Nikon has a very good 35/1.8 for DX, Canon has no such thing.
That said, the Nikon system is very good overall. Just keep in mind that you will most probably -- earlier than you might think -- want more than this one lens.
