the autofocus packed in after about half an hour. Smells like the US drive has burned-out...! <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I bought a new Tamron 70-300 USD (for Canon) a few weeks ago, and the USD failed the day after I got the lens, without obvious reasons. Returned the lens, got a new one, and this seems to work OK. Until now, at least. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Anyway, good to know that there is a 5-year extended warranty on the lens (and the US Drive <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />).
Cheers,
Herbert
