One thing I'm marginally confused in reading the verdict is that this lens lies between a 50f2 and a 85f2.8 both of which typically perform very well (esp when you get into the $600 price range). Add to that this is an crop frame lens do you really find this lens to be uniquely good for a relatively slow lens ?
