I'm currently shopping for a wide angle lens for my Pentax K-x, so I've been reading reviews of all the usual suspects. When I was checking out the review of the Tamron 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 on this site, I noticed that one of the sample photos (the maple leaves) shows that it was taken at 24mm and f/3.5. I thought this was strange since I would have expected max aperture to be f/4.5 at the end of the zoom range.
Figuring it was just a typo in the review, I downloaded the full-size image and used PhotoME to view the EXIF information. But this also shows 24mm @ f/3.5! According to the dpreview.com review of the Tamron 10-24mm, at 20mm and above, the max aperture is f/4.5.
Can anybody explain what's going on here?
