The important is everyone is satisfied with what he uses. Personally I never felt comfortable with apple interface that's the reason I was never tempted getting an iPhone (or any iThing)
With prices always lower than competitors why not go windows phone ?
BTW I never had problems with viruses using my Windows phone. As you know old viruses don't work on newer versions of Windows and lately malware guys aren't interested in windows much less with windows phone
In two years not a single time I had to worry for viruses I read often warnings in the local media for malware for android and iOS I have never been affected. I didn't install any antivirus never needed it and I don't
