Sigh you are just too picky. I mean you merely said zeiss so I gave you some pictures of a zeiss 35f1.4. Really. Isn't that good enough ?

Actually I thought the canon 35f2 was a pretty good compromise for one stop less and decent flare control (was disappointed the ze didn't do better; most of my contax lenses had very good flare control).

I either want a 35mm f2 for normal 35mm stuff, it is small and compact and doesn't weight a lot. If I would go for a 35mm that offers a larger aperture for shallow DOF work, it will not be the Sigma, because I do not like its bokeh a whole lot. That is where that Zeiss would come in. I could care less that it is less sharp wide open, as shallow DOF makes that less of an issue (and bokeh is more important then).
