I'm currently evaluating DXO Optics Pro 7 and the results are fantastic, the noise reduction is so effective that it's like gaining a stop without any impact on detail. Version 8 is supposed to come out in a few days and will be discounted for a couple of weeks at $100. I'm getting it for sure.

I didn't tried it before so I did it this morning. While it seem to be superior in some point ( sharpening (a bit better), noise reduction (a bit better ), lens distortion/ perception adjustment ( much better, but less useful for me)).

It's seem, to me, that their software are like their site: it's really focused on the technical stuff, like lens distortion, sharpening and noise reduction They do it really well but there is more than that. Color seem to be a lower priority, you can easily just by trying the histogram adjustment.

The absence of the local adjustment is also a deal breaker for me.

But thank to let me know that this software exist, they may add enough good feature in the future to make it a real complete program. they may have it in the Ver. 8 but I not sure I wanna be a beta tester on those....
