Both is in the text. Look at the A700 performance with this lens, it is very clear the f1.4 performance is somewhat hindered. For the rest, the resolution bar differences are more or less consistent with the resolution jump, just not the edge performance at f1.4.
Also, the advantage of the EA-LA2 is clear from the text: it allows AF (phase detection AF at that).
