There were several races that day, often quite short (half an hour) and most of them took place on the grand prix track only. Among others there were historic motorcycles, sidecars, historic formula one cars, some CanAm sports cars ("big bangers"), several touring car races (including the "battle of the dwarfs" for up to 1300 ccm) and also some presentation events (like a W165 "Silberpfeil" piloted by Jochen Maass). In the afternoon, however, there was a 3 hour touring car race (the actual "Eifelrennen") on the maximum track length (grand prix plus green hell).
