I have let my EF 70-200mm f4 L USM tumble from a few flights of stairs, hitting the concrete floor below. Hood also took the brunt of the impact, and broke. Lens was fine.



Congratulations with the great save of your camera and lens!

Don't forget to order a new hood for your lens, as you noticed lens hoods are great for impact absorption!
