Like you, I also favor Tamron for the longer lenses. The Sigma 135/1.8 Art is a beast, and the Tamrons come with lots of cute ideas. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.
But since Fuji's latest Kaizen update for X-T2, I regain some joy with it (although people are already ranting about some bugs...) Their focus-stacking is just a little bit more clever than Nikon's. But for both companies there's plenty of space for improvements. However, I tried a handhold focus stack with the X-T2 and could get away with it.
