As security measure (probably against hacks) the camera apparently does a checksum check which includes the filename. If that is incorrect, the camera skips the file without displaying it.
Only the original file name makes it not skip it, and I can't find if the file name is stored in the file itself (I looked with a hex editor).
So I have no solution for you to get the camera to display these CR2 files. In future, do not rename CR2 files you want the camera to be able to display still later on
