A7r, the IBIS-less one, with the crappy Sony RAW format and the hateful ergonomics? You must not be friends. 
What is wrong with using a 6D mk II with those lenses? The Voigtlander 20mm f3.5 SL II N is very nice to use on my old 6D. On the 6D, you can even use focus trap with those lenses (nice trick especially with macro/close up under certain circumstances).
Has he given any reasons for why those are his favourite lenses?
